Environmental Impact Report (EIR) / Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Process
National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) require agencies to prepare environmental impact assessments of proposed projects with significant environmental effects and to circulate these documents to other agencies and the public for comment before making decisions.
